Production Blog: Filming Blog

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog!  Guess what, we filmed! My group mate and I finally filmed. Mya and I filmed at Sawgrass Mall, a mall near both of our houses. Filming took about a two hours in total. We were on a time crunch so we had to hurry . The person we ended up using to play the kidnapper was both Mya and I's friend Joey. We picked Joey because  fit the type of person we wanted to play that character.  But, Joey ended up not being able to come last minute which we started to panic. The main problem we had when filming was finding a location. Specifically , it was hard for our group to find a family bathroom that fit how we wanted it to look. We wanted a family bathroom so that we can all go inside and film inside the bathroom with everyone helping out. We ended up not being able to find a family restroom. We looked all over the mall and couldn't find one and we all started to freak out. But, we couldn't make one appear so we just decided to scrap that scene as

Production Blog: Preparing to film

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. Last time you heard from me there was a bump in the production. The bump we had when in our production phase was that we had to push back filming because of unexpected occurrences. Now, today I want to talk about our journey preparing to film. So, first we thought of what would each person wear. When thinking about what each person would wear, we thought about the villain. We know we wanted the villain or antagonist to wear a black hoodie with the black mask. We wanted the villaIn to wear all black including the long pants and the shirt under the hoodie. We already got the mask which you read about earlier. We picked for the villain to wear all black because we felt it gave off that spooky mysterious vibe we wanted to give off for our audience. Also, we wanted the outfit to correlate with the mask and being that the mask is all black, we thought it was a good idea. Also, in these types of movies black is usually associated with the villain. For ou

Production Blog: Later than Expected..

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. Last time you heard from me I was in the production process for my final task. I am still in the process and am continuing to write about it. Today I wanted to tell you about a bump we had in the road. We previously made the decision to move up filming and film earlier for multiple reasons. But, today I am going to write about how we had to push the date back but still try to make it earlier than when we originally planned to film. We pushed the date up to film over spring break. But, we had a few bumps in the road. Both my group-mate and I were not able to film then even though we planned to. The reason Mya wasn't able to film is because she had to work on college stuff. Mya is a senior and it is around the time for her to go to college. So Mya had to really spend her time applying for scholarships. She also had to work over the break a lot. She works at a law firm so her job is very important as she is helping lawyers. The reason I couldn

Production Blog: Camera

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. We are still continuing the journey for our final task. Today I want to talk with you about a bump in the road we had. One of the bumps in the road we had was about finding equipment. The specific equipment we were trying to find was a camera. We wanted to film with a camera because we thought it would be more clear. Our thought process was if the camera was more clear our opening sequence would look more professional. As I thought about it, I thought more about how we couldn't use my camera. The reason we couldn't use the camera is because the lens was cracked. This became a problem as we really wanted to use a camera and mine was broken. The next person to go to was Mya's brother. So, Mya called her brother but this led to another problem. The problem was that Mya's brother wouldn't be in town at the time we wanted to film. Our next idea was to rent a camera from school. We were trying to avoid this because the school cameras

Production Blog: Finding the Mask

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! It has been a long journey with having to research first all the different genres and titles.  We are finally in the production stages of our final task and are about to start with making our film. Today I want to talk with you guys about the first step of our production. The first step of our production was getting props. The props we need for the opening sequence is a mask for our antagonist. We specifically want a black mask for our sequence. We want black because we feel it will represent danger even more. I went to go get props with my group-mate Mya. Mya and I went to get the props from a store. The store we went to was Party City. We went to a party city that was near our house. When we walked in we went to the mask section within the store. When we were in the section there was so many different masks. We found 2 black masks in the mask section that we liked. Because we liked both we were indecisive about which to choose. One was like a cot

Production Blog: THE DECISION

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. The last time you heard from me we were trying to find a camera to use for our filming. Long story short, we ended up finding a camera. Now in this blog I want to tell you about a decision. Specifically a decision Mya and I made for our final task. The decision Mya and I made was to film earlier than we originally intended. We first intended to film the weekend of April 1st. But, that day would leave us with only 2 weeks to turn in our final task. So, we decided to move the date up for filming to get ahead of this problem. Moving up the filming date would allow us to be more meticulous with our decisions. Specifically, we would have more time to edit our film and follow the conventions of our genre. We would also have more time to rewatch our final task and maybe we will see stuff we didn't see before. For example, if a clip looked weird we would have more time to re-film. It would give us time to schedule a date with everyone and get a plan.

Storyboard Blog

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. Today I will tell you about my storyboard for my final task! Quick Summary:A female and her friend walk but she looks distracted and on edge scared. A phone with a notification saying the kidnapper is on the loose is similar to an amber alert. The female and her friend sitting on the bench are afraid and a person in a black jacket and mask is behind them but they don’t see it. The girl heads into the bathroom alone without friends still scared and then she looks in the mirror and the black jacket and mask guy is in the mirror. She goes running away from another friend to her car terrified. She is now in the car, and a guy with a black jacket and mask covers the girls mouth.  #1. Two Friends are seen taking a walk, and the female seems to look a little uneasy. Regardless of the women's fears, the duo continues to walk.  #2. The walk comes to a halt with an alarming sound blaring from their cellphones. They look around as the sound blares from ev
