WHAT GENRE WILL OUR MOVIE BE? (GENRE DECISION BLOG)

Hey guys, this is Marvin and welcome back to my blog. I’m so excited you guys are continuing your journey on my blog, now you’ve seen  us research our potential genres for our movie , now it’s time to make the final decision. After all of our research, my group and I decided on the mystery genre. Our group decided to choose this genre due to the conventions of this genre matching our vision of the short film. Mis en scene such as normal settings, like a living room, and light makeup fit our project the best. This would help us convey a false sense of tranquility that is needed in our film. Editing common in mysteries, such as flashbacks, would also be the best fit for our film. This would help us execute the plot twist in a simple and more comprehensible manner.   The use of close-ups also fits our film, as we’re going to have to show the emotions of our characters. Overall, the mystery genre would help us encompass a feeling of suspense and unease throughout our film. The horror genre

GENRE BLOG: MYSTERY

Hello everyone , it’s Marvin and you’ve made it this far! So , my group and I decided to research 3 total genres that would help us decide on the genre we want to use when pushing and creating our short film. By now , you’ve seen our research on horror and romance. But within this blog, we will be researched the mystery/thriller genre. We each looked up different parts of each genre and compiled it together within a PowerPoint presentation. So within the presentation below you’ll find all the conventional angles, music, and etc of the mystery genera. This was our first big part of making our movie and our group is working together so well. Be back for more because in the next blog , we’re going to come to a final decision on what genre we want our short film to reflect. See you all later and this is Marvin signing off!

GENRE BLOG: ROMANCE

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. It’s Marvin and I’m continuing my research for genres for our upcoming movie that aligned with our pitch. In this PowerPoint my group and I made below you’ll see all the information we found when researching the romance genre. Through researching Romance genre, we found all the conventional angles, shots, sounds, and etc aligned with this film. Be back for more!

GENRE BLOG: HORROR

Hello guys , and welcome back to my blog. Over the next few blogs, we will be deciding what genre we want our short film to be based off our pitch. But first, before we can do that, we have to research genres! Below is a presentation my group and I made based on a potential genre for our movie : horror! Take a look and be back soon for the next genre!

OUR PITCH

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! So after discussing with my group , here are the pitches we came up with for our movie! Pitch A: Jack lives a happy life, but his persistent migraines and flashbacks leads him to realize he's been in a coma from a drunk driving accident. Pitch B: Alex, who thought his life was a perfect fairytale, realizes that a single song has allowed him to escape the reality of his abusive household.  The first pitch interested us because we thought the idea would be fun to execute and that it would creatively challenge us. To create this film we would have to find a way to incorporate complicated scenes, like a car crash, with the limited resources we have available to us. However, as a group, we all got together and discussed the practicality of each scene we wanted to film and also discussed alternatives we could use if a scene din't come out as we planned. This yielded successful results and we were all confident that we could make this film come t

WHO AM I WORKING WITH?

Hi everyone it’s Marvin and welcome back to my blog! Now, I’m my last blog I got to reintroduce myself to you all but this blog is different. Since I’m in A level media now, I have to do a short task. But when doing a big project like that , you first have to think about who do you want to work with? Well, that’s what this blog is all about , you’re going to learn who I’m working with for my short film project! For my short film this time, I am working with my great friends Yasmin Harebin, Kyra Myers , and Andres Santana. As you can see , this time I  chose to work in a quad group. I chose to work with a quad because last time while I didn’t have to do the work alone, it was still a lot just working in a duo. Since this project is 2x double the work as last time , I felt I needed an even bigger group so that the work can be divided more equally between all of us. Now last time , I worked with my great friend , Mya, but I couldn’t work with her because she graduated last year. But , I a

WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

Hello everyone, it’s Marvin and I know it’s been a while but WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG! Last time you saw me I was a newbie to the media world but so much has changed. Now I’m in A level media and I completed my AICE diploma. But, even though I completed my diploma I still decided to continue taking some AICE classes because I just fell in love with them , for example media. I’m now a junior and next year I’m going to be a senior and I have to start applying for college. It’s pretty scare how fast life is moving because when people told me high school went fast, I didn’t believe it. It felt like I was just a freshman yesterday sitting in AICE General Paper and marine science and global perspectives. Now , I’m in two a level courses and taking AP classes on top of that. But since I’ve finished AICE, I would say my hardest class I took would be AICE European History. I really thought I wouldn’t pass the exam but when I got my score back I almost burst into tears because that was the last r
