Let’s edit some film!

Hi guys and welcome back to my blog. Last time you were here , I was applying what we filmed to our website for marketing purposes. But when I was doing this, I had to take raw clips from the movie and edit them for the website. Now it’s time to edit the full movie. How my group and I decided to do this is to split the editing into different sections. What I mean by this is since our short film skips from middle to beginning to end, there was 3 of us that each took a part of the movie and edited it. Then the fourth person is the one who would look through the entire thing to make sure all the individual edits worked. We decided to take this route because we thought it would be too much for one person to do all by themselves and we could help each other out along the way. I was in charge of editing the ending section of the movie which was the car crash scene. For the actual editing, our group decided that we would all use the  editing software of CapCut. There was many reasons why we chose CapCut over the other editing softwares there are. First, CapCut was free , like we said earlier the budget for the film was almost nothing so we wanted something that would help us in that aspect. Secondly, CapCut is sos way to understand and follow as it helps you along the way and all you have to do is press buttons. Lastly, we al had experience using it so it would be even easier to use it and navigate. For the editing process , I went back to my earlier blogs. Specifically, I went back to the blogs I wrote about when I researched different mystery short films. I did this because I wanted to remember all the conventional editing techniques that was used. I remember the dark lighting was a huge convention which I shared with my group and I also remember the heavy use of cross cuts. So , I shared it with the other editors for my group and we chose out the same filters so it could All be cohesive. I finished editing my parts of the film after about two hours and sent the re edits to my team, thank you for reading my blog, be back for more!

Editing Blog: Adding Scenes + Making Changes

Hey guys and welcome back to my final production blog! You previously heard how I had my friends peer-review what I had for my short film so far. In the next blog, I post you guys will finally get to see the finishing product. In this blog I will tell you about the process I went through re-editing. I decided to re-edit because not only did we film more stuff but we also got feedback. I continued editing on the app CapCut on my phone because it was so easy to work with. First, I added in the new ending that we came up with. When editing though, I realized that the ending was kind of short. So throughout the rest of my editing I knew I had to make up for the timing in the titles. I made sure that I used the same effects on all the titles except for one. The one title that had a different effect was the actual title of the movie. I wanted to use a different effect for the title because I wanted to add a more enhanced glitch effect and the reason I did this is because I really want the v
