What should we name our movie?

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog, it’s been a while! The last time you were here my group and I were storyboaring for our movie. But now it’s time to start the production since we know what we want each scene of our movie to entail. Since my group and I are going to be marketing this project, we realized we can’t even start the marketing process without a title. So the first step was to find a name for our movie with the project. When we researched how real movie production companies do this. And when we researched this, we figured the best way was to think about the essence of our film. So when we talked it over, we came up with some key words that describe our film. The words we found were “awake” , “dream”, and “wreck”. When looking at the work “awake” we thought about how in the film our main character is awaking from a fantasy life. That also went hand in hand with dream because the lifestyle that our main character was living was not real but a lifestyle created in his dream. But we also thought about wreck because of the car accident scene our group wants to do. But we realized we also wanted to incorporate the music aspect. This music aspect in our film was sort of a repetition of some sort. So, words that we came up with to represent that were words like “hallucination” or “echoes”. The word “hallucination” embodies the fact that the music wasn’t actually being played that the main character kept hearing. But “echo” surrounds that idea because it’s the music that’s being constantly repeating and following the character. Another factor is we wanted our title to be short. So, after talking with the group we decided to combine the aspects of the words we came up with and now our film will be called “Echoes of Awakening”. Thank you so much for reading my blog and be back for more planning as we are entering a new stage : the production stage.

The Critics Are In !

Hey guys and welcome to my final production blog of AICE Media! It has been a long journey from going to AS level to A Level and you guys have followed me the entire time. This short film has probably been the hardest project due to all the moving parts of it. By moving parts, I mean so many aspects such as the website, the postcard, AND the movie. But, now that we reshot more film for our movie , we were finally within the time frame. Now that we were in the time frame, it was time to hear from the critics. So, in our group we each got 3 different people to view our film and to give us feedback. I was able to get 3 of my friends to view the film. First I sent it to my friend Isa, who is also in media. The feedback that I got from her was that she didn't like the "scary" music in the beginning but she understood the concept. To give more clarity, the music in the beginning  was meant to give off comedy from the quick transition of scary music to upbeat music. This was a ...

WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

Hello everyone, it’s Marvin and I know it’s been a while but WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG! Last time you saw me I was a newbie to the media world but so much has changed. Now I’m in A level media and I completed my AICE diploma. But, even though I completed my diploma I still decided to continue taking some AICE classes because I just fell in love with them , for example media. I’m now a junior and next year I’m going to be a senior and I have to start applying for college. It’s pretty scare how fast life is moving because when people told me high school went fast, I didn’t believe it. It felt like I was just a freshman yesterday sitting in AICE General Paper and marine science and global perspectives. Now , I’m in two a level courses and taking AP classes on top of that. But since I’ve finished AICE, I would say my hardest class I took would be AICE European History. I really thought I wouldn’t pass the exam but when I got my score back I almost burst into tears because that was the last r...

Production Blog

Production Blog Welcome back everyone! We finally finished filming our commercial. Our group worked so well together when filming the commercial and we all contributed towards the direction the commercial took. When we were filming, we kept thinking very hard about the shots and my group and I were very mindful to use different types of shots when we were filming so we can have a variety. When filming some of our shots on this day, there were some problems where some of the specific scenes did not look natural. One example of this was our 3rd scene. In this scene, one of our subjects was fake sleeping and it did not look as real as possible and in order to fix this problem, my group and I did multiple shots of the scenes and chose the best ones. For our second scene, we had arranged the set properly. We had people sit in certain places,  stand in certain places , and look in a specific direction when talking. For all our scenes, we had our subjects have some input as to how w...
