Storyboard for “The Dream”

Hi everyone , and welcome back to my blog! In this blog, my group and I began story boarding for our short film “The Dream”. We’ve compiled an idea for 60 different shots in order to make our movie. Enjoy and be back for more! This is Marvin signing off.

Scene One- The first scene will start with Mya opening up the door to the courtroom. She will introduce herself, welcome the viewer to the courtroom, and then go look for the rest of the members. The camera will pan around the room to give a full view of the scene. Finally the camera will turn to Charlie and Kai. Scene Two- The second scene will start with Charlie introducing himself. He would state his name and then, similar to a lawyer examining a witness, will ask Kai to introduce herself. After Kai says her name the camera will pan back to Mya who will go looking for the other members. Scene Three- The third scene will jump cut to Joey asleep on a patio bench. Mya will walk into frame and wake him up. Once awake he will introduce himself to the camera. Scene Four- The fourth scene will start with Kyra and I on a different bench. Storyboard Blog First Scene- In the first scene, a couple is madly in love. They have just came off of a date and the girl has a rose in her hand given to her by her significant other. They are walking holding hands down the pathway. Second Scene- In the second scene, the significant other breaks up with the girl. This absolutely crushes her and she becomes very emotional. She becomes this emotional not only because of the breakup but also because of how shocking and off guard it was. Third Scene- In the Third scene , the girl turns to something that she always knows will make her feel better. She puts on her headphones to try to get over the heartbreak that her boyfriend just put her through and she is trying to cope with her feelings. Fourth Scene- After the girl puts on her headphones , she goes to her phone and turns on a song. This is the part where the music will come in and begin playing. Planning Blog Song Title: Save Your Tears by The Weeknd Props: Since my group and I decided to produce a commercial based off a breakup between a couple right after a date, our main prop will be a rose. Some other props we will use is a phone and a car. Costumes: In our music video we will have one main person as the subject , the girl who had just been broken up with. Along with the main subject, we will have other subjects as well. For the couple since they just came from a date they will be dressed up nicely but casual and since we will film at night they will wear warm clothes. For example, dresses, a jacket, etc. Our other subjects, we will only use their lips within the music video.
