Genre Research: A Quiet Place

 Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. The last time you read I was researching movies that fall under my chosen genre: horror. Now, I will continue that journey with today's movie , A Quiet Place . A  Quiet Place is a horror movie released in 2018. But while this is a horror genre it is a very unique horror movie that relies heavily on sound. This element is what makes the film so remarkable. The disturbing sounds, the fact that characters cannot make noise, and the movie's portrayal of this concept are all very well done. The movie contains many of the usual horror movie conventions, such as scary monsters and jump scares, with some moments of darkness. However, what really sets this movie apart is its use of sound. The way the story is crafted to utilize the horror of sound is truly remarkable and something to emulate in the future. It goes against usual horror movie conventions a little of not having that eerie sound constantly but it adds a new layer to the horror genre , something revolutionary. The acting in the movie is also exceptional, with the actors doing an excellent job of portraying the characters' need for silence. I was also impressed with the computer generated effects of the  monster in this movie. The special effects followed the conventions and it does this while looking convincing. One issue I had with the film was some inconsistencies regarding the actual sounds in the movie. I hope to avoid these issues in my own work. Additionally, while A Quiet Place adheres to the common horror movie conventions, it doesn't bring anything new to the table. I believe it's essential to switch things up every once in a while to keep things interesting. Nonetheless, the movie still remains true to the conventions of the horror genre. Production Blog

 Production Blog Welcome back everyone! We finally finished filming our commercial. Our group worked so well together when filming the commercial and we all contributed towards the direction the commercial took. When we were filming, we kept thinking very hard about the shots and my group and I were very mindful to use different types of shots when we were filming so we can have a variety. When filming some of our shots on this day, there were some problems where some of the specific scenes did not look natural. One example of this was our 3rd scene. In this scene, one of our subjects was fake sleeping and it did not look as real as possible and in order to fix this problem, my group and I did multiple shots of the scenes and chose the best ones. For our second scene, we had arranged the set properly. We had people sit in certain places,  stand in certain places , and look in a specific direction when talking. Group Blog

 Hello everyone and thank you for finding my group blog for my music video. I had a group for my commercial which was composed of Mya, Kyra, and I. But, for this project our group has gotten smaller and is now composed of just Mya and I. Kyra decided she wanted to work with a new group this time which we fully respect and we both still are great friends with Kyra. I chose to continue working with Mya because of her work ethic. Mya is great when it comes to group project because she gets stuff done. When we did our commercial, Mya would always remind Kyra and I in a group chat when we had due dates for the commercials. Mya would also always get her part of the project done within enough time for the rest of us to review it and make any changes if we needed to but there were always hardly any changed needed to be made.
