Song Title:

Save Your Tears by The Weeknd

Props:

Since my group and I decided to produce a commercial based off a breakup between a couple right after a date, our main prop will be a rose. Some other props we will use is a phone and a car.

Costumes:

In our music video we will have one main person as the subject , the girl who had just been broken up with. Along with the main subject, we will have other subjects as well. For the couple since they just came from a date they will be dressed up nicely but casual  and since we will film at night they will wear warm clothes. For example, dresses, a jacket, etc. Our other subjects, we will only use their lips within the music video.  If we can not get our subjects, to dress up nicely they will dress up in normal clothing like t shirts, jeans, sneakers, etc.

Film Schedule:

On 11/13/22, our group researches codes and conventions of pop genre music videos.

On 11/15/22, our group establishes the props, costumes, schedule, location list, and backup plan.

On 11/19/22, our group will create the storyboard for our 1 min and 15 seconds music video.

On 12/10/22, our group will film and record the necessary shots for our music video.

On 12/15/22, our group will edit and add the final touches to the music video.

Location List:

When filming this music video, we will use many locations. These locations would start off walking outside of a restaurant showing the couple leaving the restaurant. This would be the point where one significant other breaks up with the other to emphasize the breakup message we want to get across.

Other locations we would use is inside a car, a parking lot, and inside a bedroom. In these locations, we would have the significant other who is in distraught and disbelief after being broken up with which will further get our message and story across.

Backup Plans:

We have picked some locations and parts of our music video that will take place outside. If there is bad weather such as rain or thunder we will then change our location to inside of the place where the date is taking place and just do an establishing shot to move the story forward. If one of the two group members is absent, we will either reschedule the day we film or someone else would take their position.

Production Blog: Editing Blog

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. In my last blog you heard how we finally filmed! Not everything went as we planned but we had to make do. Today I am going to be telling you about the editing process of our film. I actually edited the film on my phone for the most part. The editing process took a very long time, longer than I expected. If I had to give a number, I would say this process took a total of 2-3 hours. But, we knew we had to make up for our filming aspect so I did what I had to do. We edited our short film on this app called CapCut. CapCut is a very popular editing app which I have used in the past. What I mean by this is I love how you don't have to be the most experienced at editing and your edits can still come out great. When editing, the first thing I did was gather the clips. Once I did this, I started to think about all the titles needed. When editing this, I took inspiration from a previous movie I researched. What I did intentionally, I made sure the effec...

Title Research: Get Out

Hey guys , welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be researching the different titles of movies and the titles I will be looking at today come from the movie "Get which I got from the "Art of the Title" website you read about earlier. I will not answer the questions about the opening sequence below.  1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? During the opening sequence of the "Get Out" movie many titles are displayed. Specifically the title of the production companies, the title of the movie, the actors and actresses, the name of the casting head, the head of the music for the film, the maker of the music, the costume designer, the editor for the film, the production designer, the photography director, the producers, the executive producers, and finally the director who is also the writer.  2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequences? In this film, the opening sequence the images prioritized seem normal. When watching a movie, you t...

Storyboard Blog

Scene One- The first scene will start with Mya opening up the door to the courtroom. She will introduce herself, welcome the viewer to the courtroom, and then go look for the rest of the members. The camera will pan around the room to give a full view of the scene. Finally the camera will turn to Charlie and Kai.  Scene Two- The second scene will start with Charlie introducing himself. He would state his name and then, similar to a lawyer examining a witness, will ask Kai to introduce herself. After Kai says her name the camera will pan back to Mya who will go looking for the other members.  Scene Three- The third scene will jump cut to Joey asleep on a patio bench. Mya will walk into frame and wake him up. Once awake he will introduce himself to the camera.  Scene Four- The fourth scene will start with Kyra and I on a different bench. We will be in the middle of a conversation when Mya walks up to us and has us introduce ourselves. After we both introduce ourselve...
