Intro Blog

Hello and welcome back for my music video adventure if you forgot, I am Marvin Exantus and I am the son of a full Haitian dad and a full African-American mother. I am the oldest child out of all my siblings. On my mom's side I have a little sister named Malaysia and I have a 3 month old brother on my dad's side named Mayson. In the future, I hope to be a lawyer and maybe even go into politics.  I am not sure what type of lawyer I want to be yet due to the vast variety of types of lawyers there are or what law school I would want to go to. For undergraduate if I stay in state I for sure want to go to the University of Florida. If I'm being optomisitc, I would love to be able to go to an Ivy League school for undergraduate school but using my bright futures might be the best option. Right now, I am currently the Class of 2025 President and I am also apart of the Mock Trial Team. My favorite part of being on the mock trial team is the people for sure, they always have the best jokes and are very supportive of anything anyone does. I like being the Class President because I get to leave such a mark on my class. I think it's very important to leave a mark at my high school due to me being a 3rd generation student here. My father and mom both went to the same high school as I do which is actually where they first met and my grandma did also. In my free time, I really enjoy watching movies and tv shows. Some of my favorite movies of all time include The Hangover and Akeelah and The Bee. Some of my favorite tv shows are Stranger Things, How To Get Away With Murder, and Cobra Kai. I also like to listen to music in my free time a lot. My favorite artist to listen to is The Weeknd. I find his music so calming and he has different songs for whatever type of mood I'm in. I chose to take the class Media Studies because of the amazing reviews I heard about. I feel this class will spark my interest and maybe open doors to career paths I have never thought about.

Production Blog: Editing Blog

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. In my last blog you heard how we finally filmed! Not everything went as we planned but we had to make do. Today I am going to be telling you about the editing process of our film. I actually edited the film on my phone for the most part. The editing process took a very long time, longer than I expected. If I had to give a number, I would say this process took a total of 2-3 hours. But, we knew we had to make up for our filming aspect so I did what I had to do. We edited our short film on this app called CapCut. CapCut is a very popular editing app which I have used in the past. What I mean by this is I love how you don't have to be the most experienced at editing and your edits can still come out great. When editing, the first thing I did was gather the clips. Once I did this, I started to think about all the titles needed. When editing this, I took inspiration from a previous movie I researched. What I did intentionally, I made sure the effec...

Title Research: Get Out

Hey guys , welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be researching the different titles of movies and the titles I will be looking at today come from the movie "Get which I got from the "Art of the Title" website you read about earlier. I will not answer the questions about the opening sequence below.  1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? During the opening sequence of the "Get Out" movie many titles are displayed. Specifically the title of the production companies, the title of the movie, the actors and actresses, the name of the casting head, the head of the music for the film, the maker of the music, the costume designer, the editor for the film, the production designer, the photography director, the producers, the executive producers, and finally the director who is also the writer.  2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequences? In this film, the opening sequence the images prioritized seem normal. When watching a movie, you t...

Production Blog: Filming Blog

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog!  Guess what, we filmed! My group mate and I finally filmed. Mya and I filmed at Sawgrass Mall, a mall near both of our houses. Filming took about a two hours in total. We were on a time crunch so we had to hurry . The person we ended up using to play the kidnapper was both Mya and I's friend Joey. We picked Joey because  fit the type of person we wanted to play that character.  But, Joey ended up not being able to come last minute which we started to panic. The main problem we had when filming was finding a location. Specifically , it was hard for our group to find a family bathroom that fit how we wanted it to look. We wanted a family bathroom so that we can all go inside and film inside the bathroom with everyone helping out. We ended up not being able to find a family restroom. We looked all over the mall and couldn't find one and we all started to freak out. But, we couldn't make one appear so we just decided to scrap that s...
